Through the portals of silence the healing sun of wisdom and peace will shine upon you.
— Paramahansa Yogananda
The ashram grounds are sprinkled with several beautifully landscaped gardens which are home to a large variety of plants and trees. Shady mango groves, avenues of jackfruit trees, evergreen litchi trees, and tastefully scattered ornamental bamboo patches all combine to create a spiritual oasis that invites world-weary souls to come and partake of the elixir of peace and joy. One finds it easy to let go of the cares of the world and relax in body, mind, and spirit. Several benches have been provided where one can meditate and go within or just sit quietly and soak in the peace and tranquillity of these sacred surroundings.
The spiritual vibrations left by Paramahansaji and the many divine personages who walked these holy grounds, uplift all those who enter the ashram precincts in search of tranquillity or to contemplate on God.
In these sacred meditation gardens, there are several tranquil gazebos, nooks, and niches where one can meditate in peace. The flowers, shrubs, and vegetation have been carefully nurtured to create a soothing environment. There are sprawling lush, emerald green lawns in front of the Main Building, Dhyana Mandir, and around the Smriti Mandir. There are a few water bodies in which rare varieties of lilies and multi-hued fish abound. All these landscaping elements enhance the aura of peace and tranquillity that reverberates in these sacred grounds.
