Justice R. M. Datta (1919 – 2011)
Justice Ramendra Mohan Datta, who served as the Vice-President of the Board of Directors of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India from 1986 to 2001, passes away peacefully at Kolkata on December 12, 2011, at the age of 91. He was a distinguished lawyer and former acting Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court. Yogoda Satsanga sannyasis and devotees gratefully remember Justice Datta for the many years of dedicated service rendered in the selfless spirit of a true disciple of Gurudeva, Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda. The Society grew tremendously in all areas during his tenure on the Board, with the sacred teachings of Kriya Yoga being practised by an increasing number of truth-seekers.
Speaking about Gurudeva Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda, Justice once said that no one else was born on earth who loved so many persons. Guruji’s teachings are universally acceptable to everyone without any distinction. Justice used to recall Sri Daya Mataji’s assurance that she would take charge of him and his family. He considered himself extremely fortunate to have such a blessing.

Message for Justice Datta
Dear one of God and Guru,
The first moment I saw you at the Garpar centre satsanga, I recognized you as one of Guruji’s own. He was drawing you to the path on which he could bless and guide you to hasten the fulfilment of your deepest spiritual longings.
You are in the loving care of Gurudeva whose blessings hold you in the light of the beloved Divine Mother. In spirit we are with you, all of us who love and honour you as Gurudeva’s beloved chela and as our Gurubhai and divine friend — ever in the divine love of God and Guru — always together, never apart.
Blessings to you, your lovely daughters, and all your dear family,
Sri Sri Mrinalini Mata
