Mankind is presently being challenged by the worldwide COVID-19 crisis. It is a time to embrace the world with our daily prayers, and also to follow Gurudeva’s guidance: “Life should be chiefly service.” In this spirit we have an opportunity to serve, and we would like to invite you to participate in our efforts to reach out to the poor and needy, those most directly impacted by the current crisis, those who are suffering and in need of the basics to survive — primarily the migrant labour, daily wage workers, the destitute, and rural people. The need of the hour is two-fold: to provide care and medicines to save lives, and to try to ensure that no one goes hungry because of these restrictions.
The Government of India has appealed to all charitable organizations to support its efforts in stopping this pandemic. Answering the clarion call, YSS joined the nationwide efforts to win this battle. As an organization sustained entirely by voluntary donations, now more than ever, we count on our devotees to continue supporting Guruji’s ideal of serving mankind as one’s larger Self.
Our goal is to reach out to the poor and the forsaken who are the most vulnerable at the moment: those who are either not able to procure healthcare, or are not able to earn their daily wages due to the lockdown. We are in touch with the local administrations where our ashrams and some of our major kendras are located to identify and assist such communities — the elderly, orphans, daily wage labourers, people from rural areas, and patients from leprosy colonies. We plan to procure rations such as rice, dal, oil, etc. and distribute them to these people with the help of Government-authorized NGOs. We also intend to include other essential items in the survival kit, such as medicines, soaps, sanitizers, and protective gear such as masks, gloves, etc.
Those who are interested in contributing to this noble cause may please donate online. Kindly note that we are currently accepting only online donations.
Please note that Yogoda Satsanga Society of India is recognized as a charitable Society under the provisions of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Donations to the Society (PAN: AAATY0283H) are Income Tax deductible under Section 80-G of the said Act.
If you have any queries regarding the donation procedure, or are having difficulties in donating online, or are interested in supporting our relief activity in some other way, please contact Ranchi Help Desk via email helpdesk@yssi.org or by phone: +91 (651) 6655 555 (Mon-Sat: 9 am to 4.00 pm).
Another way all YSS devotees can contribute at this time is by joining the YSS sannyasis and the Worldwide Prayer Circle in praying daily for all those who have requested prayers, and for the health and well-being of all humanity. You can find more details by visiting our webpage.
May we draw inspiration from our beloved Gurudeva’s words: “In being of spiritual, mental, and material service to others, you will find that, without seeking, your own needs will be fulfilled.”
We pray that you remain safe, and also ensure the safety of others by diligently following all the guidance that has been given by medical experts and the Government. In so doing, and thereby manifesting care and concern for all, you will be most pleasing to God and the Great Gurus.
May the halo of God’s all protecting love surround you and your dear ones always.
